| Caroline is so traumatized by her childhood that she cannot let go of control and say what she wants and needs from Tony. She expects him to know. He loves her and realizes her past is standing in the way of their future but he is unable to break through her barriers. This was interesting to watch to see if Tony could get through to her but so frustrating because Caroline is so closed off. I don't know why Tony stayed around. You wouldn't have seen me hanging around no matter how much the person Caroline is so traumatized by her childhood that she cannot let go of control and say what she wants and needs from Tony.
