I love to read. I am very eclectic in my reading but I especially enjoy erotica and erotic romance. I also like movies, live theater and concerts, hockey, and counted cross-stitch.
A SPOOL OF BLUE THREAD by Anne Tyler
| Well written story of a family who have to deal with their parents getting older. I didn't like the characters. None of them were sympathetic. The best character was Nora, the daughter-in-law. She's calm and steady as chaos abounds. All were trying to pretend nothing was wrong as their mother was beginning to deal with memory issues. I know people like this and I could put a real name to each character. It is very realistic. There are funny moments but overall it is sad. Secrets are kept but are found out in various ways and at various times that cause hurt and pain. Great book for discussion. |
