Nikki does not know she is a demigoddess. She is executive assistant to Tor, himself a demigod, son of Aphrodite. Aphrodite owns a cosmetic company that Tor runs. Other women want Tor also because he is drop dead gorgeous. Tor refuses to get involved with a demigoddess because of the past problems they have caused. When a new creative director is hired for a new line of cosmetics, Tor is not happy about the vibes going between Nikki and the new director especially when Nikki is chosen as the face of the new line, Goddess. Nikki also learns she is the daughter of Ares. I loved Nikki. She was funny. When she learns who she is and that she has powers--man, does she use them to comedic effect. I loved how she totally loves Tor but does not want to let him know because she is afraid to lose her job. She doubts him when he wants to marry her since her archenemy at the company cannot wait to tell her why Tor asked her. I loved how Tor goes all out to convince her he does love her and wants to marry her. Aphrodite knew all along who should be together. This is one funny book and I look forward to reading more by Boone Brux.( |
