Told through the eyes of Malala, she tells us a little of the history of Pakistan, Islam, and herself. I liked that she gave us the information of how Pakistan came into existence. I also liked how she said Islam was like and compared it to what the Taliban was doing. I enjoyed the cultural story and her family's story. The voice is a teen-ager's voice for most of the telling. She gives a different perspective of what is happening versus what we are told. I was glad I read it. This is not a book I will walk away from without my ideas being changed. |
